About SEA Constituency

South East Asia (SEA) Constituency brings together 11 member countries that receive Global Fund support for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria programs. They are Bangladesh, Bhutan, DPR Korea, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. For 2024-2026 term, the Constituency is being led by the Board Member (Prof Dante Harbuwono from Indonesia) and Alternate Board Member (Ms Aishath Samiya from Maldives), and with the support of a Constituency Focal Point to coordinate works with the Global Fund Secretariat, other constituencies, and stakeholders.

Dante is the Vice Minister of Health of Indonesia and the country’s first molecular diabetes expert. He has over 20 years of experience in clinical, research and health care management. He co-led the country’s health system transformation and has actively participated in Indonesia’s global health engagements.

Aishath is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Maldives. She has served in numerous senior roles in the Maldives’ public health service and has wide-ranging experience working on regional and global health issues.
