South East Asia Constituency virtual meeting, held on 15 April 2025, focused on preparations for the 53rd Global Fund Board Meeting and updates on regional health initiatives. Chaired by Prof. Dante Harbuwono and Ms. Aishath Samiya, the meeting began with opening remarks from Global Fund Board Chair, Lady Roslyn Morauta, who emphasized the importance of unity and the need for continued efforts in addressing regional health challenges.

WHO South-East Asia Region’s Director, Dr Suman Rijal, highlighted the ongoing challenges in HIV, TB, and malaria in the region, as well as the need for enhanced collaboration. Following this, country representatives presented their ongoing efforts, achievements, and challenges to eliminate the diseases, as well as concerns to be raised at the Board Meeting.

The meeting also included a session from the African Constituency Bureau (ACB) to share best practices on constituency governance. Françoise Vanni from the Global Fund presented strategies for resource mobilization and the 8th Replenishment, focusing on increasing private sector contributions. 

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to advancing priorities for disease elimination and supporting the Global Fund’s 8th replenishment campaign in 2025.
